Kurabo entered the food business when the group acquired Japan Instant Foods (now Japan Jiffy Foods, Inc.), pioneers in the development of freeze-dried food in Japan. Around this time, many employees of spinning mills in Japan were suffering from mental and physical health problems due to things like late nights of work and a harsh work environment.
